Dr. Ranjana Bisht was born in Lucknow, India. She completed her B.Sc. in Chemistry from Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow, and subsequently earned her M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from Lucknow University. Her growing interest in sustainable and innovative chemical transformations led her to pursue doctoral studies at the Centre of Bio-Medical Research (CBMR), Lucknow, under the mentorship of Prof. Buddhadeb Chattopadhyay. She received her Ph.D. in 2019 for her work on iridium-catalyzed ortho- and meta-selective C–H bond borylation and silylation of aromatic molecules. In 2021, Dr. Bisht joined the University of Manchester, UK, as a EPSRC postdoctoral research associate with Prof. David J. Procter, where she focused on developing metal-free synthetic methodologies. In 2023, she moved to the United States to join Prof. Monika Raj's group at Emory University as a NIH postdoctoral fellow, working on peptide functionalization and protein bioconjugation. Dr. Bisht joined the Department of Chemistry at IIT Roorkee as an Assistant Professor in September 2024. Her research encompasses organic synthesis, organometallic and photoredox catalysis, and the development of sustainable chemical transformations, as well as advancements in peptide and protein functionalization. At IIT Roorkee, she aims to foster innovation and collaboration in both teaching and research, advancing the frontiers of modern chemistry.
